There will be no need for divorce!
Marriage should not be done considering age but when you are ready for it. Those who believe this are not wrong, but after what came out in a study on ‘benefits of marriage at the right age’, it is necessary to think again on it.
No one is unaware of the importance of marriage in the society. Everyone has to get married to start a family. But the biggest question that arises is, at what age one should get married? Legally, this age is different in every country. In India this age is 18 for girls and 21 for boys. However, the demand to change it has arisen many times.
Apart from the legal issues, if we consider the right age for marriage, then considering the surrounding circumstances, it is not wrong to believe that unless you consider yourself physically, mentally and financially ready for this relationship. One should not be bound by this. But the society does not think so, according to it, marrying at the right age improves a person’s health, relationships and life. Even if you do not agree with this idea, you will be surprised to know that a recent study also supports this.
According to a study conducted by Nick Wolfinger, a sociologist at the University of Utah , divorce is much less common among people who get married between the ages of 28 and 32. At least for the first 5 years, there is no chance of separation between husband and wife.
Wolfinger analyzed data from the National Survey of Family Growth for 2006–2010 and 2011–2013. In which they found that the likelihood of divorce decreases as you age, from the late teens to the late twenties and early thirties.
After this, the likelihood of divorce increases again as you move into your late thirties and early forties. The chances of divorce start increasing by 5% each year after about 32.
The late 20s and early 30s are a great time to start a lifelong partnership with someone. Because by this age people start understanding their own responsibilities and needs. They are also at a good level financially, which is very important for starting a family.
Philip Cohen of the University of Maryland, another sociologist who has studied this topic, while studying the data of the American Community Survey, has said that marrying at an older age does not at all mean that it is less likely to last for a long time. According to their analysis, if you want to avoid divorce, get married between the ages of 45 to 49.
